Telemedicine Venture Summit at ATA 2014

The American Telemedicine Association (ATA) and the law firm of Jones Day are conducting the ATA 2014 Telemedicine Venture Summit on May 18 in conjunction with the ATA 2014 Annual Meeting and Trade Show to take place May 17-20, 2014 in Baltimore. The Summit is designed to provide a forum for education, networking, and collaboration between telemedicine and mHealth start-ups, and venture capitalists.

A selection committee of venture capitalists, private equity investors, and healthcare strategic partners selected the companies that will take part in the Summit from a pool of over 50 applicants.

“Given the variety of innovative telemedicine, telehealth, and mHealth businesses, and growing interest among the investment community, we feel this Venture Summit is a valuable opportunity for emerging companies to establish mutually beneficial relationships and propel their product or service into the marketplace,” said Jonathan Linkous, CEO of ATA.

The Summit will feature a morning of lessons from mentors and practice pitches from up and coming companies to gain tips and pointers. Following the morning preparation, selected companies will participate in an afternoon of custom networking where they will be matched with investors based on unique interests to provide one-on-one time to connect. There will also be several panels of investors and experts to provide education and guidance to participants as well as non-applicant, general attendees.

Nearly 6000 attendees including telemedicine professionals, institutions, healthcare providers, and government agencies will be attending ATA 2014. Also, expert keynote speakers, over 500 educational presentations, and more than 250 exhibitors will be attending and showcasing their technology.
