Avalere Health recently launched the “Center for Payment & Delivery Innovation” to assist stakeholders and organizations understand the significant changes in payment and delivery reshaping the U.S health system. The Center will help organizations prepare for and take action to adapt their business models and practices to fulfill the promise of delivering greater value through better health outcomes and at the same time, achieve lower costs.
Avalere has developed relationships with a broad cross section of health plans and managed care companies, health systems, providers, life sciences companies, industry associations, and other healthcare organizations to deliver distinct insights and national thought leadership on the most critical issues facing the U.S health system.
The Center will pursue an innovative research agenda to examine the external forces impacting providers and health plans, to include changing reimbursement models, evolving health information exchange infrastructure, performance and quality measurements, accountable care, population health, and trends in patient engagement and consumerism.
“Avalere’s Center will help all stakeholders understand the imperatives and actions necessary to deliver value-based healthcare,” said Avalere CEO Dan Mendelson. Avalere announced the appointment of Joshua Seidman PhD to lead the Center. Dr. Seidman was responsible for policy development around the meaningful use of EHRs and e-quality measures within the HHS Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT.
“Avalere has been a leading voice in healthcare analysis and strategy and is respected for its relentless commitment to data, objectivity, and innovative strategic guidance,” said Dr. Seidman. “It’s an exciting time to join Avalere to expand the firm’s capabilities in this arena and show leadership in advancing healthcare delivery system reforms and payment innovation models that are needed to turn the promise of health reform into a reality.”
