Small Grant Opportunity Posted

The National Cancer Institute posted their Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) on November 21, 2013 seeking small cancer research projects that can be carried out in a short period of time with limited resources.

This FOA supports different types of projects including pilot and feasibility studies, secondary analysis of existing data, small self-contained research projects, development of research methodology, and development of new research technology.

Proposed projects need to involve research related to cancer. Examples of relevant areas include but are not limited to studies of cancer biology, cancer control, cancer diagnosis, cancer disparities, cancer prevention, and cancer treatment. Eligible applicants can include higher education institutions, nonprofits, for-profits, governments, and other entities.

A budget for direct costs of up to $50,000 per year may be requested with a maximum of $100,000 direct costs over two years.
