Delta Region Receives Funding

USDA Rural Development’s Delta Health Care Services Grant Program recently awarded funding. The grant program provides financial assistance to address the continued unmet health needs in the Delta region. Since 2009, USDA has supported ten projects with almost $6 million available through the grant program.

This is accomplished through the cooperation among healthcare professionals, institutions of higher education, research institutions, and other individuals and entities in the Delta region. Grant funds may be used to develop healthcare services, health education programs, job training programs and to develop and expand public health-related facilities in the region. Grants can only be awarded to communities in the region with no more than 50,000 inhabitants.
