Mayo Clinic Moving Forward

Mayo Clinic, https://www.mayoclinic.org is investing in a major laboratory expansion at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. The expansion is a $49 million investment with construction starting and will continue through 2025.

The expansion will include new lab space for 5 clinical testing labs and new lab space for Mayo Clinic Biopharma Diagnostics. The Mayo Clinic Laboratories strategy is to provide diagnostics to Mayo clinic patients across the U.S. and abroad.

Patients will have access to lab testing through their healthcare team at Mayo, while healthcare teams around the world will have access to testing through Mayo Clinic Laboratories’ Test Catalog. In addition, Mayo Clinic’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is continuously innovating to introduce new tests as healthcare and diagnostics advance.

Also in other news at Mayo Clinic,  KLOC Health https://www.klochealth.com based in Denver Colorado, has entered into an agreement with Mayo Clinic to co-create a mobile, on-demand nurse staffing solution platform for Mayo. The collaboration will focus on matching nurses for immediate short and long term assignments by informing on availability, location, certifications, skill sets, and interests.

The software focuses on matching nurses for immediate, short and long term assignments by allowing for real time communication with staff to secure the right individual for the right position, at the right location, and at the right time. Nurses will also be able to build their own profiles on the platform and provide real-time feedback on their performance, job satisfaction, and peer reviews.

The KLOC Health Staffing Platform is in its final stages of development and will be launched as a pilot at Mayo Clinic. Participating nurses will be invited to create their profiles on the platform which is expected to go live by late Summer 2022.
